Dr. Abdolhay Farivar
MD, FRACP (Rheum)
Dr Farivar is a Consultant Rheumatologist with broad experience in the assessment and management of inflammatory and degenerative musculoskeletal conditions. He provides comprehensive rheumatology care with particular interests in osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Dr Farivar completed his medical training in Iran, where he developed a strong foundation in internal medicine and rheumatology before relocating to Australia in 2022 to continue his specialist training and clinical practice under Prof. David Hunter. He subsequently completed specialist training in Rheumatology and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
He has worked across hospital-based and outpatient rheumatology settings, managing a wide range of complex rheumatological conditions and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. His clinical approach emphasises thorough assessment, evidence-based management, and practical treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Dr Farivar is currently involved in clinical trials research with the Osteoarthritis Clinical Research Group (OACRG) at the Kolling Institute, contributing to research focused on improving care and outcomes for people with osteoarthritis. This experience supports his commitment to integrating current evidence into everyday clinical practice.
At Naia Health, Dr Farivar works closely with physiotherapists and allied health professionals as part of a coordinated, multidisciplinary model of care. He places strong emphasis on clear communication, shared decision-making, and continuity of care, helping patients feel informed and supported in managing their condition over the long term.
